Solar thermique energy is using the heat from the sun to warm your water.
Solar water heating is one of the most common forms of renewable energy with almost 100  000 installations in France. A solar water heater ( Chauffe Eau Solar Individual CESI ) can be fitted to any property. It can be installed on the roof or be free standing. You can benefit from TVA at 5.5%, local and regional grants and Credit Impot at 50% whether you are a tax payer or not.
To ensure you get access to all the relevant grants ensure you use a QualiSOL installer.

SOLEC is now offering the new Thermor  water heater. This is a water heater taking much of it’s energy from a heat pump, all mounted in one easy to install unit. Even though it is not eligible for Credit Impot in many circumstances it may be cheaper to install than a solar water heater. It has not external pipework, does not require any roof access so therefore your roof pitch and aspect doesn’t matter.
